COVID-19 Update and INtouch Community
All Member Call – 2/8/2021
Overview:
This all member call was held to provide program and project updates as they relate to Safe States’ collective COVID-19 work and also introduce the new online community, INtouch.
Safe States was awarded a COVID-19 expansion supplement to our CDC/NCIPC collaborative agreement. The funding has allowed Safe States to partner with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and Education Development Center (EDC) via the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention (Action Alliance) to equip practitioners, national partners and communities with tools, resources, and technical assistance needed to enhance suicide and adverse childhood experiences (ACES) prevention efforts throughout the COVID-19 response period and beyond. The activities and initiatives underway are outlined in this presentation.
The new online community, INtouch, was launched during this call. It is a collaborative community created for Safe States members and is designed to be a place for peers to share resources, have real time discussion on challenges and successes, pose questions, ask advice and connect. INtouch will continue to evolve and grow. New tools and communities will be introduced over time to enhance our members’ experience. At the end of the call, participants were encouraged to share experiences, successes and challenges endured since the initial COVID-19 All Member Call held on April 2, 2020. Questions were posed to the group encouraging members to share and learn from each other.
Presenters:
- Michael Bauer, Director of the Bureau of Occupational Health and Injury Prevention, New York State Department of Health
