Description

Safe Communities America is the U.S. arm of the international Safe Communities movement that is affiliated with the World Health Organization Collaborating Center for Community Safety Promotion. Safe Communities is a proven community coalition-based approach to injury reduction involving all community sectors including businesses, civic organizations, local government, non-profits, and local residents. Safe Communities America is a program of the National Safety Council, which is committed to saving lives and preventing injuries in the U.S. at the community level.

The training will allow you to: * Be able to increase their knowledge and awareness of the Safe Communities program * Learn the history of Safe Communities America * Understand the process for achieving a Safe Community designation; and * Understand the impact the Safe Community designation has had on several communities.
